What is Microsoft BI?

MSBI stands for Microsoft Business Intelligence. MSBI is a powerful suite and is composed of tools which helps in providing best solutions for Business Intelligence and Data Mining Queries. MSBI empower users to gain access to accurate and up-to-date information for better decision making in an organization. This tool uses Visual studio along with SQL server and offers different tools for different processes which are required in Business Intelligence (BI) solutions.

SSRSSSASSSISFAQs

SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is a server-based report generating software system from Microsoft. It is part of suite of Microsoft SQL Server services, including SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services) and SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services).

Administered via a Web interface, it can be used to prepare and deliver a variety of interactive and printed reports. The SSRS service provides an interface into Microsoft Visual Studio so that developers as well as SQL administrators can connect to SQL databases and use SSRS tools to format SQL reports in many complex ways. It also provides a ‘Report Builder’ tool for less technical users to format SQL reports of lesser complexity.

SSRS competes with Crystal Reports and other business intelligence tools.

Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services, SSAS, is an online analytical processing (OLAP), data mining and reporting tool in Microsoft SQL Server. It is purposefully used by the organizations to analyze and make sense of the information which possibly spread out across multiple databases, or in disparate tables.

Analysis Services are considered to be an online analytical data engine used in business analytics, thus providing the analytical data for business reports and client applications such as Power BI, Excel, Reporting Services reports, and other data visualization tools.

SSAS is used as a tool by organizations to analyze and make sense of information possibly spread out across multiple databases, or in disparate tables or files.

SQL Server Integration Services is a platform for building enterprise-level data integration and data transformations solutions. You use Integration Services to solve complex business problems by copying or downloading files, sending e-mail messages in response to events, updating data warehouses, cleaning and mining data, and managing SQL Server objects and data. The packages can work alone or in concert with other packages to address complex business needs. Integration Services can extract and transform data from a wide variety of sources such as XML data files, flat files, and relational data sources, and then load the data into one or more destinations.

Microsoft Integration Services includes a rich set of built-in tasks and transformations, tools for constructing packages, and the Integration Services service for running and managing packages.
